Israel Folau 9 Man of the match and easy to see why.
His try was a product of pace and vision and he then demonstrated his all-round brilliance with a try-saving tackle on Sean Lamont
Joe Tomane6 Looked lively out wide and posed a few problems for the Scots defence but needed to get involved more in if he is to remain part of the starting XV.
Christian Leali'ifano7 Kicked his goals as expected but sometimes looked a little unsure of himself in the open spaces as he adjusted to the outside centre role.
Mike Harris 6 Has never totally convinced in his outings for Australia. Did everything asked of him but lacked the sparkle of those around him.
Chris Feauai-Sautia8 Took his try well, realising immediately that he was not being held and had a second chance. Looked lively, although probably not sufficiently so to keep his place.
Quade Cooper7 Has a natural ability to spot where the gaps are and find the passes to put his team-mates into the holes, as he showed with Folaua's try.
Will Genia5
A mixed bag for the Australia playmaker. Did his job quietly and efficiently but we are used to so much more from him.
James Slipper6 Not the greatest vote of confidence when his captain opted for line-outs instead of scrums but he was solid enough in the tight and worked hard in the loose.
Stephen Moore 8 Carried well, was dynamic in the loose and tackled his heart out. Surely one of the most under-rated hookers in world rugby.
Sekope Kepu 6 Another who did well enough without shining. Active in the tight and worked hard in the loose.
Rob Simmons5 Got involved in a stupid fracas that earned him a yellow card that could have cost his team more than it did.
James Horwill 6 Worked hard and is getting some of his form back. His line-out expertise was one reason his side were more confident there than in the scrums.
Scott Fardy 6 His team rarely ran the ball round the fringes to play to his main strength but played his part in an effective back-row unit effort.
Mike Hooper 8
Make a nuisance of himself all game with his ability seem to get to the breakdown as soon as it starts.
Ben Mowen 7 Made sure his team never panicked when Scotland had the pressure and was one reason why they were able to slow the Scottish ball in the open.
Replacements 6
It says everything about how comfortable Australia felt that they did not see any need to go to the bench until late in the game.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
