Ben Cairns looked back on Currie's emphatic 24-0 destruction of Melrose and admitted it had been the most satisfying result of his coaching career.
The triumph over the champions at Malleny Park kept the hosts in contention for a top-four finish.
Former Scotland centre Cairns declared: "The win was forged by the whole club, not just the team that took the field. "I have to pay special mention to the 30 odd volunteers that helped clear the pitch in three hours on Saturday morning, and in particular to our groundsman Ivor Santer who has worked tirelessly to ensure it was still playable.
"I spoke to the players pre match regarding this and talked to them about the collective graft the club members had put in to get a result, and how we needed the players to do the same.
"The whole team played at the top end of their levels which was very pleasing. The standout backs for me were Robbie Nelson, in only his second appearance for the 1st XV and after two months out with injury, and Joe Reynolds who kicked all his points and defended the wide channels particularly well.
"The game was really won however by our pack, who were immense with Travis Brooke easily man of the match."
Cairns added: "We are now set up nicely for the remaining three and the play-offs are our aim."
Melrose could not cope with the pace, power and accuracy of the hosts, who created tries for Ruaridh Smith, Mike Vernel and Fidias Efthymiou.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
