Currie coach is focused on the task in hand

Ally Donaldson is a man who is steeped in Scottish rugby, somebody who has starred as a player, coach and master-motivator at his beloved Currie for the last two decades.

So when he declared yesterday that the current RBS Premiership is the toughest competition in which he has participated, perhaps we should acknowledge the positive steps which have taken place at grass-roots level.

That trend was reflected at the weekend in the success of Scotland's representatives in the British & Irish Cup, and in the way Currie ended Ayr's winning championship sequence, though not without a battle against the Millbrae team, who were reduced to 14 men early on by the dismissal of Ross Curle.
