Italy v Scotland: player ratings

Scotland have won their first Six Nations tie against Italy - see below how each player performed.

STUART HOGG: Couple of decent runs before playing in Dunbar for the first try. 7

TOMMY SEYMOUR: Blew a decent chance early on when he over-cooked a chip-and-chase. 6

ALEX DUNBAR: Has pace to burn and proved it with two incredible tries. 9

MATT SCOTT: Had to be brave in defence but still looks short of fitness after his wrist injury. 6

SEAN LAMONT: Smashed his way past Tommy Allan on his way to creating the second try. 7

DUNCAN WEIR: The hero of the day with his last-gasp drop goal. Another promising display too. 8

GREIG LAIDLAW: Scored a couple of penalties but needs to show more urgency at the breakdown. 6

RYAN GRANT: A better display after his personal nightmare against England. 6

SCOTT LAWSON: Seems to have cured Scotland's line-out curse. 7

MORAY LOW: Struggled against Alberto De Marchi at the scrum before being replaced early in the second half. 5

RICHIE GRAY: Back in the team after being dropped against England. Scott Johnson asked him to improve his defensive work and he did as he was told. 7

JIM HAMILTON: Has been as culpable as anyone for the Scots' recent line-out issues but tightened things up in Rome. 6

RYAN WILSON: Fell off a couple of tackles and he might be next for a spell on the sidelines. 5

CHRIS FUSARO: Another promising display on his second outing for Scotland. 6

JOHNNIE BEATTIE: Justified his selection over David Denton with a mature performance. 7.
