England head coach Stuart Lancaster is delighted with the depth he sees in England's second row, boosted by the return of Courtney Lawes for the RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland.

With the Six Nations title possibly being decided elsewhere, in the match between Wales and Ireland, Lancaster has revealed how he intends to keep his players focused on the job at hand - which is despatching Scotland at a ground they have dominated their northern rivals on for the past 32 years.

"I think there's a collective level of experience that we've brought in, not just with Courtney but with Geoff Parling on the bench," Lancaster said. "Courtney was fantastic for us in the November internationals with his presence around the field but also his presence in the set piece now is big for us.

"[We will] turn all off the TVs off in the training room. It's something you can't control as a player.

"[Wales and Ireland's] game will be playing at around 4.30 just as we're about to warm up in front of 82,000 people and play against Scotland so you don't want their heads filled with a game in an environment they can't control."

The return of Lawes after an absence dating back to last autumn was recommended by forwards coach Graham Rowntree.

"Courtney is a special player. He's really maturing as a player and as a person. You can't hide what he can bring to us physically," said Rowntree ahead of yesterday's announcement.

"I've watched his last two games for Northampton and he's played well. He's played exceptionally well for us over the last year and he's back to his best."

The inclusion of Lawes is set to be the only adjustment to the pack out-muscled in Dublin by Ireland, while behind the scrum full-back Mike Brown will return at the expense of Alex Goode having recovered from concussion.

Flanker Tom Wood, who has overcome an ankle complaint, is on course to win a place on the bench in his first appearance of the Championship, profiting from Tom Croft's shoulder dislocation.

A further adjustment could see Geoff Parling be brought on to the replacements bench as second row cover.
