Lineen brings in new faces for campaign

SEAN LINEEN, the Scotland Under-20 head coach, has announced a squad of 26 for the two-day training camp next Monday and Tuesday and a match against the Scotland Club XV on Wednesday at Netherdale, the venue for Scotland's U20 matches against England and France.

The squad contains several newcomers, back-five forward Buchan Richardson, the nephew of the former Scotland lock, Jeremy Richardson, the centre Neil Herron and the Melrose stand-off Ben Chalmers, son of the former Scotland and Lions stand-off Craig.

Richardson joins fellow Scottish Exiles Jack Cosgrove, the young Worcester loosehead prop, Sam James, the London Wasps hooker, Cam Jeffery, the strong-running Bristol University centre, Murdo McAndrew, the former Howe of Fife scrum-half now based in France, Ben Vellacot, the Hartpury College scrum-half, and Tommy Spinks, the former North Berwick High School and Fettes College back row who moved to London Scottish.

The Scots begin their international programme with the Six Nations match against Ireland in Athlone two weeks on Friday and conclude their championship games against Wales on March 14 at Colwyn Bay.

The second half of the under-20 side's programme is the IRB World Junior Championship in June, taking place in Auckland, where the Scots are in a difficult pool alongside New Zealand, South Africa and Samoa.
