Craig Bachurzewski and Mateusz Bartoszek, the Glasgow Hawks forwards, have been called into the Poland squad for the European Nations Cup match against Sweden next month.

The tie in Warsaw is also part of the qualifying process for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

It's a must-win game for Poland if they are to mount a challenge at the top of the qualification group. They lost 19-11 in Stockholm in June, a match both players featured in.

A Herald Sport article this month brought the players to the attention of Glasgow's Polish community. However, the greatest interest has come from their homeland.

"When we started to get interest from Poland it came as a very interesting surprise," said Hugh Barrow, who administers the Hawks website.
