BT Premiership side Stirling County have named David Adamson as their new head coach for the 2015/16 season.

Graeme Young left his post at the club at the end of last season when the Bridgehaugh men just managed to stay up after beating GHA in a play-off.

Before that, they slumped badly in the second half of the campaign and finished second bottom.

New Stirling County president John Wright said: "After a long extensive search, the club are excited to announce that David Adamson has accepted the role of head coach.

"A former County stand-off of some distinction David is currently head coach of Edinburgh University, a role in which he will continue in as his day job.

"David will build on the fantastic work Graeme Young brought to the club as well as bringing new and fresh ideas.

"This positive appointment is another step forward for County as we have recently announced the Academy expansion and a new purpose-built gym to be completed in the Autumn."

As well as County, Adamson represented Heriot's and London Scottish as a player and turned out for Scotland up to under-21 level.
