Last season Konkel, who was schooled on the Black Isle, travelled down from Inverness every weekend to play for Hillhead/Jordanhill. The 340-mile round trip usually took her three-and-a-half hours there and the same going back, but she believes it was worth it with selection for the Scotland Under-20s squad having helped her rediscover her love for the sport.
