MUSLIMS at an Islamic Centre in Stirling damaged in a suspected petrol

attack believe the fire-raising must have been racially motivated.

Curtains and carpets and the parts of the main hall of worship at the

centre, in Burghmuir Road, Stirling, were damaged by fire and smoke. But

damage was said to be fairly minor.

Centre chairman Ghulam Rasool said it appeared that a window had been

smashed and petrol poured in and set on fire. ''It must be somebody

racist,'' he said yesterday. Detective Inspector John Anderson, leading

the investigation, said police were keeping an open mind on the

motivation behind the attack.
