PETER THOMSON, the Erskine professional, scored four birdies and an

eagle in a three-under-par round of 69 and took the #700 winner's cheque

in yesterday's Bonnyton pro-am.

Thomson was out in 37, but enjoyed a turn in fortunes over the inward

nine, grabbing birdies at the tenth, eleventh, and seventeenth, as well

as an eagle 2 at the fifteenth. He won by two shots from Cowglen's John

McTear, with European tour regular, Steve McAllister, finishing in a

three-way tie for third with Alan McCloskey (Airdrie) and Willie Milne
