Motherwell have completed the #30,000 signing of full back Martyn Corrigan, who had been involved in a long-running dispute with Falkirk.

Fir Park manager Billy Davies had been chasing the 23-year-old for some time and finalised the deal yesterday afternoon. In November, a proposed swap loan deal fell through that would have allowed Motherwell to have a look at Corrigan while Greig Denham joined Falkirk.

However, Corrigan has been training at Motherwell and they have obviously been impressed by what they saw of a player who was a regular for the Brockville club last term. He had, though, refused to sign a new contract at the end of the season and, although he was playing in Finland, he remained registered with Falkirk as he was still under 24.

qNEW Clydebank manager Steve Morrison made his first signing yesterday, striker Murray Hunter jumping two divisions from Berwick Rangers, who he joined last year from Ross County.

The 29-year-old had originally been on the transfer list at his own request, then decided to stay with Berwick, but subsequently has not been in their plans.

qPETERHEAD, who will be competing in the Scottish League next season, will announce their new manager next week, with former Scotland midfielder Iain Wilson the favourite now that chairman Roger Taylor has confirmed it will be a part-time post.

Fellow newcomers Elgin City are also narrowing their shortlist, with Inverness Caley Thistle assistant Alex Caldwell tipped for what will also be a part-time job.
