ANDY Murray has confirmed that he will continue his comeback from a serious hip problem at next week’s Nature Valley International at Eastbourne. The former World No 1, who went down in three sets against Nick Kyrgios of Australia at the Fever-Tree Championships at Queen’s Club on Tuesday night in his first competitive match for 11 months, has been encouraged enough by that outing to accept a wild card into the ATP 250 grass court event as he continues his warm up process for Wimbledon. Now ranked 156 in the world, this is the first time the 31-year-old has played this event since 2006, back when it was staged at Nottingham.

“I’m looking forward to getting some more time on the grass courts at Eastbourne this week,” said the three-time Grand Slam champion, and two-time Olympic gold medallist. “I played Davis Cup there in 2010 and I know the courts and the facilities are excellent. It was good to get back to competition at Queen’s and I’m hoping to build on that at Devonshire Park.”

Also featuring a WTA Premier level grass court event, the Nature Valley International features Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters as former women’s singles champions, with Novak Djokovic last year joining Feliciano Lopez and Andy Roddick as its former men’s singles champions.
