Scotland's former British women's No.1 Elena Baltacha has postponed her retirement and plans to return from injury at Indian Wells in March.

The 29-year-old had foot surgery after the Olympics and has not played since, but she explained: "I think I've still got two or three more years.

"I don't think having my last match at the Olympics was the right time to pack it in. I really needed that break because I didn't realise how exhausted I was, mentally and emotionally, and I hit a wall.

"Having six months off and doing a bit of coaching made me realise where I fell short as a player and what I needed to do."
