ROGER Federer's pursuit of an eighth title remains on course after the No 2 seed enjoyed a four-set victory over Samuel Groth on Centre Court.
Federer beat the Australian 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-2 - the first time this year he has dropped a set - and will play Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 20 seed from Spain, in Monday's fourth round.
Marin Cilic and John Isner resumed their epic battle on No 1 Court this afternoon after the match was suspended overnight with the score at 10-10 in the final set. As three of the four sets had gone to the tiebreak, a long battle seemed in prospect, but instead Cilic claimed a place in the fourth round with a 12-10 win..
Dustin Brown, who recorded the shock of the Championships so far when he beat Rafael Nadal in the second round, has been eliminated by Viktor Troicki of Serbia. The No 24 seed won in four sets.
In the women's third round, No 5 seed Caroline Wozniacki beat No 31 Camila Giorgi 6-2, 6-2 and next plays No 20 seed Garbine Muguruza, a three-sets winner over No 10 seed Angelique Kerber.
Agnieszka Radwanska, the No 13 from Poland, beat Australia's Casey Dellacqua in straight sets. And the No 21, Madison Keys, also won in straight sets against Tatjana Maria.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
