A new e-mail Christmas card designed for The Herald Friends of Maggie's campaign is launched today.
Businesses will be able to use the card, which has been designed by Timorous Beasties, to send Christmas greetings to customers, contacts and clients in an environmentally friendly way. All companies have to do to use the card is become a corporate friend of Maggie's. A corporate friend is a company that supports Maggie's through a range of initiatives from payroll giving to putting teams forward for sporting challenges.
Companies can become a corporate friend by donating any amount: £120, for instance, would cover the cost of five visits to a Maggie's centre, while £3000 would cover the costs of a benefits adviser for a month.
The law firm Dundas and Wilson is one of the first companies to sign up. Donald Shaw, managing partner, said: "We're constantly looking at ways to reduce our environmental impact and the Maggie's e-card is a great seasonal way to contribute to that. We're proud to be one of the businesses helping Maggie's to do such a fabulous job."
Laura McGill, of Maggie's Corporate Partnerships Team, said: "This is such a great opportunity for Maggie's corporate supporters to provide a great pre-Christmas financial boost to Maggie's.
"Maggie's really needs your support, and this is a fun and innovative way to do that, while engaging your business clients and contacts at the same time."
The Herald Friends of Maggie's campaign was set up to mark The Herald's 225th anniversary. Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres provide support for people across Scotland affected by cancer.
