Just when you thought the joke was well, truly and horribly over with spoof movies, along comes another rip-off comedy stuffed with lame gags. Yes, I know your sides have only recently recovered from the pain-inducing "hilarity" of Epic Movie and its ilk, but this is the life we cinemagoers have chosen.

Dir: Craig Mazin
With: Drake Bell, Leslie Nielsen

Just when you thought the joke was well, truly and horribly over with spoof movies, along comes another rip-off comedy stuffed with lame gags. Yes, I know your sides have only recently recovered from the pain-inducing "hilarity" of Epic Movie and its ilk, but this is the life we cinemagoers have chosen. To be fair, Craig Mazin's effort aspires to be more Airplane than criminally asinine. In this it is helped by the presence of Leslie Nielsen, a little worn round the edges but still able to cut it, who plays a dotty uncle to Drake Bell's Spiderman-type teenager. Besides the Naked Gun veteran, Marion Ross (the mum from Happy Days), and an ace sketch featuring a Tom Cruise impersonator, Superhero Movie remains mega weak.
