The security operation surrounding next week's G8 summit in Northern Ireland is set to be one of the biggest the UK has ever witnessed, a senior police commander has predicted.
More than 700 police officers from across Great Britain have been trained to drive the type of specialist armoured vehicles used in Northern Ireland ahead of their deployment to the region to provide security at the G8 summit.
DISSIDENT attacks are likely to occur in Northern Ireland during the G8 summit despite the presence of thousands of extra police officers, the commander of the security operation said.
