TV Choice: In the feeding clinic for this final episode of Supersize vs Superskinny are two women with a shared goal: to look good in their wedding dresses (so far, so dull, but do bear with me).
Supersize vs Superskinny Channel 4, 8pm
In the feeding clinic for this final episode of the series are two women with a shared goal: to look good in their wedding dresses (so far, so dull, but do bear with me).
There's sliver-thin Jenette Nolan from Lancashire who, at 6st 8lbs, is two stones underweight and refusing to marry her future husband until she can fill her wedding dress.
At the other end of the spectrum is Rosemarie Palmer, from the Isle of Man, who hopes to go from more than 21st to a slightly less curvy size 14 in time for her summer wedding.
It's all nice fluffy, pull-on-the-heartstrings stuff (and who doesn't enjoy a smug smile when faced with the bizarre antics of bridezillas), but perhaps most pertinent is the segment in which journalist Anna Richardson investigates the dark world of extreme dieting.
She meets Lisa Bond who became partially blind by taking the radical decision to stop taking insulin in order to lose weight.
Richardson also talks to ex-Big Brother housemate Nikki "Who is she?" Grahame, who has publicly battled anorexia, about the extremes she has resorted to in a bid to stay thin.
Providing the light relief, the ever-militant Gillian McKeith is on the loose again, obsessed with reducing the size of the nation's rears (What will it take to stop this woman? Nuclear strike? Direct hit from an asteroid? Being pinned down by Jonah Lomu?) and she is annoying the good people of Birmingham with a device that promises to vacuum away fat.
Does it work on wittering TV presenters too?
