MC Aly Bain explained that the assembled only had about 24 hours to rehearse the show and, while the playing was, without exception, magnificent, the whole thing had a relaxed, jam-like feel. It also did exactly what it said on the tin, featuring many of the finest traditional musicians from both sides of the Atlantic.
The band featured the likes of Tim O'Brien, Phil Cunningham, Dirk Powell, John McCusker and the outstanding dobro player, Jerry Douglas. Featured artists included Eddi Reader, Kathy Mattea, Julie Fowlis, Nanci Griffith and Dan Tyminski, who stole the show with Man of Constant Sorrow.
