Tain-based Environmental Hygiene Products, one of the largest waste bin manufacturers and suppliers in the UK, has been awarded an approved supplier contract to supply the NHS throughout England with waste bins for the next two years.
The latest contract is estimated to be worth at least £1.5m a year.
The Easter Ross company currently employs 25 staff and occupies nine units in Tain's industrial estate.
Started 20 years ago, it has become one of the leading waste solution providers in the healthcare sector in the UK and Ireland.
Managing director Gary Campbell said: "We already supply to the NHS throughout the UK but this is fantastic news and consolidates our position as sector leader. The company has been based in Tain since 1993 and in the last four years alone we have doubled our turnover and moved into different markets. However, our mainstay is the UK healthcare sector and this award confirms us as one of the leading players in that market."
Environmental Hygiene Products also distributes to janitorial suppliers, nursing homes and private hospitals worldwide.
The company's healthcare range, manufactured exclusively in Tain, has been developed for the purpose of fighting MRSA. It has the option of an anti-microbial coating which helps stop the spread of such bacteria.
