Grumps up and down the country have been venting their moaning and groaning frustrations at the troubled star in an unprecedented display of annoyance.

She may even have to clear the Grammys from her mantlepiece after sweeping the board at the Grumpier Old Men Awards.

The singer won five awards at the inaugural Grumpier GIT Awards, as voted for by visitors to the popular www.grumpieroldmen.co.uk website.

Among the accolades were the prize for Most Annoying Female, the Most Over-rated Tabloid Fodder and the National Service Award for Young Upstarts.

Winehouse also beat off competition from favourite Keith Richards for the Growing Old Disgracefully gong and from Madonna to win the Mutton Dressed as Lamb award. The other big winner' was Gordon Brown, who won the Grump of the Year title and Most Annoying Male award.

Steve Allen said Miss Winehouse was the outright favourite when it came to moaning topics.

The self-styled chief grump' said: "We all know she is annoying, but the strength of feeling about her has been overwhelming.

"Grumpier old men everywhere have put their moaning where their mouths are and spoken for the entire country."

The Grumpier Old Men website, which has 3500 members, was started by Steve Allen and his wife to provide a forum for grumpy old men to voice their complaints and air their views.
