Tweed jackets get a new lease of life

An Edinburgh bag designer has released a series of products made from recycled Harris tweed jackets.

Catherine Aitken has used the tweed, leather and other traditional materials to produce the washbags and daybags that form part of her Renaissance range.

The designer and former film producer works from her studio in Leith, and says that she has been inspired by Hollywood – with current designs linked to classics such as Highlander and Rob Roy.
