Seven years on from that day in 2001, conspiracy theories continue to lurk on the wilder reaches of the internet. This patchy Italian documentary takes a few of the notions and holds them up to the light with varying degrees of success. The most convincing part of the film deals with the collapse of the buildings at the World Trade Centre: was it due to the planes' impact and the heat produced by the fires, or did reports of explosions point to another cause?
With talking heads ranging from the credible (retired US servicemen and physicists) to the frankly bizarre (Italian actors?), the film raises several interesting questions but shies away from any serious attempt at answers. After an hour and 45 minutes, the biggest question of all - why anyone other than Al Qaeda would have carried out such acts - remains unaddressed.
