Michael J Watson

Published on 20/11/2019

WATSON Michael J. Was a highly respected and widely liked member of Craigdhu Writers. He joined the group in September 2009 and from reading his first poem it was evident he would bring a clear sensitivity to the writings. A deep admirer of Bob Dylan, Mike has also mapped out his life's journey through verse, from the heart and with no restrictions. He moved to the States and lived there for twenty years before returning to Scotland where he died suddenly on 7th November 2019, aged seventy. Members of the writing group admired his thoughtfulness, conciseness and spot-on humour. He was a very private man and his writings were sweet, though in life he could also be fierce when defending his point of view, yet always allowing the other to keep their own. He was a weel kent figure at the group standing out with his tall, slim frame wearing his signature hat for all weathers. His presence will be felt in the group even though he will now be absent and his memory lives on through his book "Dream, Hope, Wish". Craigdhu Writers
