JACK Robert Ian At Sydney, Australia, on 4th September, 2019, aged 84, Associate Professor Robert Ian Jack, MA, PhD, Honorary Fellow of the University of Sydney, FRHistS, FRAHS, formerly of Ayr Academy (1948-1953) and Glasgow University. Historian, Historical Researcher supreme, Heritage Specialist, Industrial Archaeologist, longest serving President of the Royal Australian Historical Society, ex-member of the NSW Heritage Council, Senior Fellow of St Andrew's College within the University of Sydney, and previously Associate Professor of History, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Head of Department of History and Chair of the Board of Studies in Music, at the University of Sydney. In his spare time a passionate and accomplished musician. Greatly appreciated and greatly missed.
