SMITH - David Macdonald PhD DSc Peacefully, at St Andrews House Care Home on 19th October 2021, David Macdonald Smith, formerly of the School of Chemistry, University of St Andrews; dear brother of Kenneth and brother-in-law of Maureen, and a proud uncle and great-uncle. Funeral private. A service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving will be held on Thursday 4th November 2021 at St Marnock's Church, Fowlis, DD2 5SG, at 2.30pm, to which all friends are invited. Family flowers only, but bright colours should be worn.

We were so sorry to hear of David's death. We were good friends for over 70 years and he was our man at our wedding. We had a long chat on his birthday and that was the last time that we were able to speak. We shall miss his telephone calls which always began ''St Andrews calling''
Sadly we are unable to be at Fowlis for health reasons but our son Colin will be there for us.
