I thank you for this In Memoriam as it brings to mind WREN Norah Munro ( 1922-1949) the mother of my late husband Howard Munro who also survived that day when the Khedive Ismail was sunk. She had been married to Alexander Munro from Argyll on Christmas Day 1943 in Mombasa Cathedral.
Also to be remembered is WREN Heather Smail who died the incident. Her family forever mourned her loss.

For subsequent generations like mine this notice has been important in reminding us of the tremendous sacrifice made by so many forces personnel from countries across the world uniting together in overcoming tyranny.
