TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CORE PATH SA3: RIVER AYR WAY/ RIVER AYR WALK (SOUTH)
The Council gives notice it intends closing temporarily, to the public, that section of Core Path SA3: River Ayr Way/River Ayr Walk (south) described in Part 1 of the Schedule below. The temporary closure of the Path is necessary to permit essential bank stabilisation works to be carried out.
The affected section of the Path will be closed for the duration of the works, which are expected to commence on 1 March 2021 and last for approximately 6 weeks. On completion of the works, the Path will be fully re-opened to public.
Persons wishing to access the River Ayr Way/Walk on either side of the closed section during the period of the works should follow the signposted diversion route described in Part 2 of the Schedule below.
For their own safety and the safety of the contractor undertaking the works, members of the public should not attempt to access the closed section of the Path.

PART 1 - PATH TO BE CLOSED TEMPORARILY
That section of the River Ayr Way/Walk (south) between the southern landfall of Craigholm Bridge and the south side of the junction of the River Ayr Way/Walk with the path leading westwards from the cul-de-sac between 15 & 17 Overmills Crescent.
PART 2 - ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
Persons wishing to access the River Ayr Way/Walk to the east of the closed section should proceed eastwards along Holmston Road to its junction with Overmills Road, then northwards and eastwards along Overmills Road to its junction with Craigholm Road, then northwards along Craigholm Road/Overmills Road to its junction with Overmills Crescent, then northwards and westwards to the end of the cul-de-sac between 15 & 17 Overmills Crescent, and then, finally, westwards along the path from the end of the Overmills Crescent cul-de-sac to its junction with the River Ayr Way/Walk.
Persons wishing to access the River Ayr Way/Walk to the west of the closed section should proceed in the opposite direction.
