Registering Your Child At Nursery
With the introduction of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 all children who are three and four years old are entitled to 600 hours of free early learning and childcare in East Renfrewshire and all other local authorities.
Morning and afternoon sessions are allocated by ballot and this allocation is made for two years. Morning and afternoon sessions are allocated in equal numbers to achieve a balance of three and four
year old school children.
You are encouraged to register your child for a place in a local
authority establishment when they reach their second birthday.
You should apply now if your child will turn three or four years old between 1 March 2017 and 28 February 2018.
When your application is received, your child's details will be held on file until places are allocated. For children who will be due to start nursery in session 2017/18, you will be informed about your child's place by the end of April 2017 provided we receive your application no later than 28 February 2017. Please note, applications received
after this date will be treated as late and therefore your place will be allocated at a later date.
You can find information and download an application form at http://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/article/7179/Apply-to-an-Early-Learning-and-Childcare-Establishment-ELC
Alternatively you can request an application form and
guidance by telephoning 0141 577 3265 or you can e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you plan to send your son or daughter to one of our partnership
private or voluntary playgroups or nurseries, you will need to apply
for a place in your chosen establishment by contacting them directly no later than 31 August 2017. Those successful in receiving funding will be notified directly by the provider.
Unsuccessful applicants who reside within East Renfrewshire Council will be offered a place within a local authority nursery.
