Hands Up for Trad's Scotland Live project has produced its first concerts. Initiated to encourage people to get together, form a committee and promote a regular music club, the project awarded £2000 each to clubs in Dundee, Bishopton and Arisaig with the proviso that each club should promote eight gigs over a twelve month period. Dundee Acoustic Music Club is already up and running at the city’s Roseangle Café on Sunday afternoons and welcomes guests including Cera Impala, Dallahan and Karine Polwart in the coming weeks. Bishopton Folk Club has forthcoming concerts by Gaelic rock band Mànran’s singer-guitarist, Norrie MacIver and piper Scott Wood’s band booked into Bishopton Community Centre, and Arisaig Acoustic Music Club launches its regular Monday programme on September 21 with Lau singer-guitarist Kris Drever, pictured, in a duo with guitarist Ian Carr in Arisaig Hotel.
