VIP Record Fairs, which bring record collectors and dealers together with regular events in Glasgow, have moved venues to offer easier access. The next fair takes place at The Old Fruitmarket in Candleriggs over the weekend of October 3 and 4 will be the only two-day event of its kind in the UK outside London. Music enthusiasts from all over the world are expected and opening times are 10am to 5pm (Saturday) and 10am to 3.30pm (Sunday).

Dunfermline Arts Guild has relaunched its longstanding Carnegie Hall concert series as Music on Sundays and while keeping chamber music at its core will be adding folk, jazz and other genres to future programmes. The series, which features mostly Scottish-based musicians and has championed many young, up and coming talents, opens its new season with leading saxophone-piano duo Tommy Smith & Brian Kellock (pictured) on October 18 and continues with the Glasgow-based Aurea String Quartet (November 8), accordionist Djordje Gajic (December 13), pianist Arta Arnicane (January 17), wind quartet Illuminati Winds (February 21), and guitar-cello duo Allan Neave & Robert Irvine (March 20). Season tickets, offering all six concerts for £40, are available now.

Cupar Blues & Beyond Club has announced its autumn programme. Tyneside’s Teresa Watson Band and local singer-songwriter Tom Beaver play the club’s regular venue, Watts nightclub on Friday, October 2. Singer-guitarist Gerry Jablonski’s Electric Band and Fife bluesman Al Hughes form a double bill on November 6 and long-serving Scottish blues scene favourites Blues ‘n’ Trouble appear on December 4 with humorously idiosyncratic Scots-Italian singer-guitarist Roberto Cassini and his Ticketey Two.

SphereRSS has announced its autumn programme of Saturday lunchtime concerts at Renfield St Stephen’s Church in Bath Street, Glasgow. Wind quintet Sirocco Winds appear on September 26, with pianist Peter Sievewright following on October 24. Accordionist Paul Chamberlain is the first of three guests in November on November 7, followed by violinist Feargus Hetherington (14th) and mezzo-soprano Julie Martin-Carter (21st), and December’s guests are violist Paul Livingston and guitarist Ian Watt (5th). All concerts begin at 1pm.
