The worlds of Game of Thrones and Doctor Who are set to collide this weekend when Arya Stark enters the Tardis for an adventure with the rebel Timelord.

Maisie Williams will star in Saturday’s episode, The Girl Who Died.

It’s not clear who she will be playing in the adventure but previous trailers have suggested her character is already known to the time traveller.

However, Maisie is not the only Games of Thrones star to appear in Doctor Who. Here’s our list of the best appearances.

1 Iain Glen

Before appearing as the lovestruck Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones, the Scots actor played Father Octavian alongside Matt Smith’s Doctor in ‘Flesh and Stone’ and ‘The Time of Angels’. Glen’s religious army leader did not last long, however, meeting his untimely demise at the hands of a Weeping Angel.

2 Mark Gatiss

Mark Gatiss is no stranger to Doctor Who. Not only has he played Lazarus in ‘The Lazarus Experiment’, he has also written several episodes of the hit sci-fi show and starred as the Timelord in a Children in Need sketch. He appeared in Game of Thrones season five as Tycho Nestoris.

3 Paul Kaye

Before appearing as Prentis, a Tivolian undertaker, in ‘Under the Lake’ and ‘Before the Flood’, Kaye played Thoros of Myr, a warrior and red priest of the Lord of Light, in Game of Thrones.

4 Harry Lloyd

Before playing Viserys Targaryen, Daenery’s older power hungry brother, Harry Lloyd appeared as Baines, another creepy older brother desperate to command his own army, in ‘The Family of Blood’ and ‘Human Nature’. He took on the David Tennant’s Doctor with an army of scarecrows and lost.

5 Thomas Brodie-Sangster

HeraldScotland:

Brodie-Sangster, aka Jojen Reed, appeared alongside Harry Lloyd in ‘The Family of Blood’ and ‘Human Nature’ as Tim Latimer, a youngster who finds the Doctor’s mysterious pocket watch.

6 David Bradley

Not only has David Bradley, better known as Walder Frey, appeared in an episode of Doctor Who, guest starring in ‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’ alongside Matt Smith, he has also played first Doctor William Hartnell in BBC drama ‘An Adventure in Time and Space’.

7 Struan Rodger

He may be better known to Game of Thrones fans as the mysterious Three-eyed Raven but Struan Rodgers has also played a big part in Doctor Who, appearing as the Face of Boe in several episodes.

8 Tobias Menzies

Tobius met a sticky end in Doctor Who, falling victim to an Ice Warrior in 'Cold War'. He also appeared as Edmure Tully, who married one of Walder Frey's daughters, in Game of Thrones.

9 Liam Cunningham

Before appearing as Ser Davos Seaworth, the much-loved right hand man of Stannis Barantheon in Game of Thrones, Liam battled Ice Warriors alongside the Doctor as Captain Zhukov in ‘Cold War’.

The incomparable Diana Riggs appeared in Doctor Who as Mrs Gillyflower, the head of the Sweetville community, before starring as Tyrell matriarch Olenna in Game of Thrones.

11 Ben Crompton

Best known as Jon Snow's friend on the Wall, Edd Tollett, in Game of Thrones, Ben also appeared alongside Peter Capaldi's Doctor as Ross in ‘Into the Dalek’.

12 Julian Glover

Before appearing as the calculating Grand Maester Pycelle in Game of Thrones, Julian starred in several Doctor Who episodes including The Crusade, alongside William Hartnell, and the City of Death, written by Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy author Douglas Adams.
