ILLUSTRATIONS of poems by Allan Ramsay, Robert Burns and James Thomson are now on display at the National Library of Scotland.
The exhibition includes items from the 1780s onwards.
Professor Sandro Jung, Senior Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Rare Books Curator Dr Anette Hagan co-curated the show, called Illustrating Scottish Poems.
Works on display at the library include Allan Ramsay’s Gentle Shepherd, Robert Burns’ Tam O’Shanter, early editions of James Macpherson’s Ossian cycle and James Thomson’s The Seasons
Illustrating Scottish Poems is on display at the Library on George IV Bridge, Edinburgh until 17 June.

THERE is a strong showing for Scottish organisations in this year's Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards shortlists.
The Dunedin Consort, Scottish Ensemble, guitarist Sean Shibe and Scottish Opera are all in the running for the prestigious awards.
Shibe has received two nominations, as has Scottish Opera.
Shibe has been shortlisted for both the RPS Music Award for Instrumentalist and the RPS Music Award for Young Artists while Scottish Opera is listed for Pelléas and Mélisande, and for two projects engaging the youngest and oldest: BambinO, a opera for 6-18 month old babies, and Memory Spinners, a weekly project for people living with dementia.
Dunedin Consort is up for best Ensemble, with Scottish Ensemble short listed in the Chamber Music category.
Winners will be announced at the RPS Music Awards dinner on 9 May in London, and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 14 May. www.rpsmusicawards.com
A NEW Chinese edition of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark will be published in China to mark the 100th anniversary of Muriel Spark’s birth.
The publication will carry a foreword written by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who announced the new publication at an event at Fudan University in Shanghai.

Jenny Niven, head of literature at Creative Scotland, said: "It is just fantastic that Muriel Spark’s centenary is being honoured in China in this way. As a true internationalist herself I’d like to think Muriel would be delighted too that her work is being introduced to new audiences around the world."
