TWO artists have new exhibitions at the Open Eye Gallery in Edinburgh.
Chris Bushe and Jayne Stokes, both based in Scotland, have shows at the gallery until early June.
Bushe's show, called North, has paintings inspired by his roots in Aberdeenshire.
Born in 1958, Chris Bushe spent his childhood in Tornaveen, Aberdeenshire, before studying Drawing and Painting at Gray’s School of Art.
Stokes debuts her first solo exhibition with the Open Eye, presenting "a series of new paintings and assemblages that document her real and imagined journeys made throughout Scotland in the last year."
Born in Shropshire in 1973, Stokes graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1996 with a first-class degree in drawing and painting, later studying at Winchester School of Art in Barcelona, graduating with an MA in Fine Art in 1998.

THE experimental art-folk singer Haley Fohr – also known as Circuit des Yeux – is to play at Mono in Glasgow next week, 14 May, for one of only four UK dates on her European tour.
Her first album for the Drag City label, Reaching for Indigo, is her fifth overall, and includes collaborations with artists including Glenn Branca, Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth and Bonnie “Prince” Billy.
Fohr’s Glasgow date is sandwiched by performances of her score to the 1923 silent film adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s Salomé in Leeds and London.

MATTHEW Dalziel and Louise Scullion, artists known as Dalziel + Scullion, who have recently been announced as the John Muir Artists in Residence 2018, are to call their next project Homing.
It will "aim to help East Lothian residents reconnect with art and nature" by working with a number of local specialists and experts as they walk and investigate the John Muir Way from Dunbar to Musselburgh.
The pair will consult geologists, botanists, and countryside rangers.
The artists are working within the landscapes of East Lothian along the John Muir Way before opening an exhibition at the Dunbar Town House Gallery on May 19.
The exhibition will stay open throughout May and June culminating in a talk by Dalziel + Scullion and the release of an associated publication on June 23.
