  • Tell us about your Fringe show

#Thirsty is a shameless musical journey celebrating my poor life choices, my unconditional love of vodka, and being thirsty for connection. It's an hour of sassy commentary mixed in with songs I stole from other people like Lady Gaga, Queen, even Judy Garland. Who doesn’t love to celebrate their bad choices??

  • How does it feel to be playing the Fringe for the first time?

I’m incredibly excited! I’ve never been to the Fringe and I’ve never been to Scotland. Thankfully, there are several New York based performers I know that will be there as well so it will be nice to experience it together. I can’t wait to debut my show!

  • Why did you decide to perform at the Fringe?

Because it’s the Fringe! It’s been a goal of mine for several years now since I started doing my solo shows. The be able to perform at the biggest arts festival with the best audiences is a dream!

  • If you were not a performer what would you be doing?

Honestly, I’m only now starting to JUST be a performer. NYC is expensive and health insurance is VERY expensive. So, I have a part time office job as well. I think it’s important to be honest about the struggles of making it as a performer in NYC to those looking to do the same. The reality is that it’s hard to be able to afford to be a performer in the US.

  • How do you prepare for a performance?

Lots of rehearsal and very little alcohol. I do a lot of singing in the show so I can’t have as many vodka martinis as I usually enjoy indulging in. But, it’s all worth it when I’m in front of an audience.

  • Best/worst advice you’ve been given ahead of your debut show?

The best advice I got was to do a Kickstarter to bring my show to Edinburgh. It was stressful but incredibly successful and has allowed us to be able to do a lot of great things in preparation. So far, the only bad advice I’ve received are from people trying to tell me what jokes to include in my show….and they aren’t even my jokes! Everyone is a comedian.

  • Favourite thing about being in Edinburgh?

I haven’t been before. But, I am looking forward to exploring the city and checking out all the other shows.

  • What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?

Um… my last name is Scott so that seems pretty Scottish.

  • Favourite Scottish food/drink?

I have so much try when I’m there! I enjoy scotch and I love meat and potatoes but I will admit haggis scares me.
