SIR David Murray's call centre business has secured a multi-million pound contract extension with business insurer Hiscox UK & Ireland.

Glasgow based Response said the agreement will now run until July 2014 having already been in place for six years.

The contract involves 62 staff handling customer service and sales queries online and through incoming telephone calls.

Hiscox, which has eight offices across the UK and plus premises in Europe, the US and Bermuda, is also investing in an improvement team to look at future service provision.

A bespoke desktop application created by Response's software arm Inisoft is also being further developed.

Brian Bannatyne, managing director of Response, said: "We have built a very strong relationship with Hiscox over the past six years and this has enabled us to develop specialist expertise in the insurance market.

Alan Millard, chief operating officer at Hiscox, said: "We are very pleased to have agreed a new contract with Response and look forward to further strong growth in the future."

Last year Response secured an extension of its contract with insurer Esure and won the deal to handle customer service calls for ScottishPower. However it lost a contract with Sky to Hero TSC.
