DESIGN agency Tayburn says it has secured more than £500,000 of new fee income in recent weeks.

The Edinburgh company's business wins include heating maintenance provider CORGI HomePlan and East Lothian based investment management firm McInroy & Wood.

Tayburn, which makes brand packaging and develops identities, is representing grass-roots rugby promotion organisation Everything4Rugby.

As well as that the agency has secured work from the recently-launched car insurer Sure Thing! which has its headquarters at Eurocentral.

Those more recent wins come on the back of securing Toshiba as a client as the Japanese conglomerate was looking to build on its involvement in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Alongside that Tayburn has in the past few months added Standard Life Wealth and new private bank Scoban, which has recently changed its name to be called Hampden & Co, to its growing roster of financial services clients.

Richard Simpson, director at Tayburn, said the business was well placed to keep growing as companies are starting to spend again. He said: "Following excellent performance in 2013, we're pleased to have got off to such a strong start this year with a number of significant new clients coming on board and growth in our fee income.

"Businesses are now coming to us with the kind of briefs which suggest growing confidence and are looking for long-term strategies, rather than responses to immediate tactical problems.

"The outlook for us in the year ahead looks particularly positive, as we continue to benefit from a more active market and the significant sporting and cultural events that Scotland has to look forward to this year."

Tayburn, formed in Scotland in 1979, has offices in Edinburgh, Manchester and Istanbul, Turkey.
