HEALTH analytics firm Aridhia International, headed by Scottish entrepreneur David Sibbald, is hopeful of increasing its revenue after making its technology available to the NHS on a pay-as-you-go basis for the first time.
The Edinburgh company has been selected to join the G-cloud procurement framework which is open to health authorities from around the UK.
It means NHS buyers can trial the AnalytiXagility software package without having to make a long-term commitment or pay for more than they need.
Aridhia believes the tools, which allow large data sets to be analysed by teams at multiple locations using cloud computing, will soon start to gain greater adoption across the healthcare sector to better support the treatment of patients.
The business has already rolled out a specialist diabetes-specific option and expects to add further disease-related functionality in the future.
Chris Roche, chief commercial officer at Aridhia, said: "Healthcare has been slow to embrace the cloud, in large part due to a lack of confidence in the security of data and the rigour of information governance. The beauty of AnalytiXagility is that information governance has been built in from the start."
Mr Sibbald, the co-founder and chief executive of Aridhia, previously built up Atlantech Technologies before selling it to Cisco Systems for £113 million in 2000. Aridhia has received investment from the likes of Albion Ventures and Scottish Equity Partners.
