THE owner of a luxury yacht that takes people around the Western Isles expects to win more US business after winning a listing on the GetMyBoat website.
Michael Romeling expects featuring on the website, which allows people to find boats to charter, will help his boat Lord Jim attract interest from American leisure customers. With a home port in Stornoway, the boat has a client base that already includes US corporations. Mr Romeling said: "We want to capitalise on the massive global appeal of the Western Isles as a destination ... and target more overseas visitors, especially those from the States." The 24 metre Lord Jim sleeps eight guests plus four crew. Formerly a Merchant Navy officer, Mr Romeling bought Lord Jim for £400,000 in 2000 and sailed it around the world before starting the charter business in 2012.
