A team of graduates from Glasgow and Strathclyde universities have won a further £5,000 funding for the MindMate app they developed to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of those living with dementia and their carers. Led by chief executive Suzanne Mitschke, MindMate won the funding after making a Dragons Den style pitch for support in a competition judged by business figures including Gordon Merrylees, Head of Entrepreneurship at Royal Bank of Scotland. MindMate was one of 38 businesses awarded £2,000 to develop their ideas under the Young Innovators Challenge programme, which rewards students who have business ideas with a positive social impact.
