Greenshields Agri, based in South East Scotland, and Agricultural Management Haddington, the East Lothian-based farming and farm management company have agreed a merger of their farming businesses.

The merger will create one of the largest agricultural operations in the northern grain belt, farming over 7,000 acres of good quality arable land from Edinburgh to Newcastle. It will also control over 18,000 metric tonnes of grain storage including two grain driers and weighbridges.

The AMH and Greenshields brands will be retained and the existing management and staff will continue in their respective roles.

Established in 2010, Greenshields farms over 4,000 acres of which 2,850 are owned, while

AMH was created in 1990 and farms3,000 acres.
