MIKE McGill, a long-standing director at Sir David Murray’s now-defunct Murray International Holdings (MIH), has joined the board of Baxters Food Group.

Mr McGill joined the Fochabers-based soup maker as a director on September 28, according to a filing at Companies House.

The chartered accountant held senior finance roles with The Malcolm Group and Macdonald Hotels & Resorts before joining MIH in 2005. He left the Murray group, which was formally dissolved on June 19 this year, in 2014, and has since had a spell as chief financial officer with Lomond Capital.

Baxters was unavailable for comment last night.

According to its most recent accounts, Baxters posted an after-tax loss of £379,000 for its last financial year, after £5.5 million of exceptional costs relating mainly to restructuring.
