Energy and engineering services giant Wood and National Nuclear Laboratory have won a three-year contract from the UK government to carry out a key research project on fuels for the nuclear reactors of the future.
Effective immediately, the two organisations are to deliver the research and development necessary to provide a world-leading reactor physics capability, based around modelling and simulation tools, that will support the design, qualification and fabrication of advanced nuclear fuels within the UK, the Wood Group said.
