Energy developer Red Rock Power has announced the appointment of Guy Madgwick as its new chief executive.

The firm said it signals a "momentous year ahead" following the recent acquisition of 50MW Afton Wind Farm in East Ayrshire for an undisclosed amount.

The new chief executive will be responsible for steering the developer’s next phase of growth after a successful 2018 which saw it expand the Edinburgh-based team by a third.

Red Rock Power also said its proposed offshore wind farm project, Inch Cape, continues to "take strides forward".

Mr Madgwick has over 30 years of experience working within the European energy industry, and spent his early career as a geologist in the oil and gas industry before moving into the power sector.
