Adrian Smith, previously head of corporate relations at Addleshaw Goddard, has been appointed to the newly-created commercial director role at legal firm Anderson Strathern.

A law graduate from the University of Aberdeen, Mr Smith brings extensive business development and marketing experience in the Scottish market in addition to international credentials, including from the property sector in Dubai and across the Middle East.

Mr Smith’s remit at Anderson Strathern will centre around the firm’s drive for continuing business growth, developing new revenue streams and working closely with the firm’s Board and partners on a range of strategic initiatives.

Housing chief takes on high profile Capability role

Care provider Capability Scotland has appointed the leader of a supported living provider as its new chief executive.

Brian Logan, who has been chief executive at Bield for the last nine years, will replace Dana O’Dwyer, who is retiring after serving eight years in the role.

In her time at Capability Scotland, Ms O'Dwyer led on the modernisation and development of services, ensuring that the organisation continually adapted in response to changes in the needs of service users.

Professor Sandy Cameron, Capability Scotland chair, said: "Dana has been fantastic in the role and has helped us evolve as an organisation since her appointment in 2011.

Scottish digital agency hires industry stalwart as creative director

Tayburn has hired industry stalwart Ricky Stevens as creative director.

Mr Stevens, a Glasgow School of Art graduate who has spent the last decade as creative director at leading agencies Blonde Digital and most recently The Lane Agency, brings extensive multi-channel design and art direction experience.

He has delivered creative campaigns for brands including Adobe UK, Baillie Gifford, Graham’s the Family Dairy, T In the Park, Skyscanner, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Visit Scotland.

Mr Stevens will be lead creative on Tayburn’s key accounts, with the agency’s client roster including Weir Group, Heineken, FNZ, the National Trust for Scotland and Boë Gin, one of Scotland’s fastest-growing drinks brands. Tayburn is a long-standing brand and design agency on the Scottish scene and has moved increasingly into the digital space over the last few years.
