LOGANAIR has taken over Derry’s sole route to London Stansted following the collapse of flybmi.

It means the Glasgow-based company has now taken

over six routes from its sister airline, which ceased trading last weekend citing Brexit “uncertainty” and “spikes in fuel and carbon costs”.

Loganair boss Jonathan Hinkles said of the Derry route: “I know the news

about flybmi created great uncertainty, so we’re focused on recommencing operations as quickly as possible.”

Separately, Loganair unveiled a new daily route from Derry to Manchester yesterday.
