He said: “I was hugely attracted to the concept of Dynamic Earth at a period in the planet’s history when it is deeply threatened by human activity and when it could not be more important for people - especially young people - to understand its origins and how it works.”

BAUER Media has appointed Victoria Easton-Riley as content development director for the Hits Radio Network in Scotland.

She has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry across both commercial radio and at the BBC.

Most recently she produced the Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Gemma, Gethin and Dave and, previous to that, was producer on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw.

She starts the newly-created role this month, in which she will be responsible for the development of people, talent and content for the Hits Radio Network broadcast teams across Scotland, which includes Clyde 1 and Forth 1.

She said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for commercial radio as the sector continues to rapidly evolve.”

It comes after Stuart Barrie has decided to leave business as regional content director for east Scotland stations.
