A new direct service between the capitals of Scotland and Austria will commence this October with Laudamotion.

The Austrian low-cost airline will fly between Edinburgh and Vienna three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from October to next March, operating on an Airbus A320.

Gordon Dewar, chief executive of Edinburgh Airport said: "We’re bringing yet more choice to our passengers and offering them a variety of ways to get to Vienna, which is one of the world’s most stunning cities, offering everything from skiing holidays, romantic weekends and historical sightseeing."

Mr Dewar added: "We’re also delighted to welcome Laudamotion as our latest airline partner and look forward to working with them to make this new service a success.”
