A MASSIVE mixed use location next to Edinburgh Airport described as Scotland’s ‘best development site’ has been put up for sale.

The 186-acre site offers developers a “blank canvas to create a vibrant hub for working, living and leisure” to the west of the Scottish capital, according to its owner, New Ingliston Limited.

It is envisaged that the “Edinburgh 205” development will combine offices, hotels, retail and housing with public open space.

It has a provisional tram halt and sits to the west of the new Edinburgh Gateway rail station and to the east of the Ingliston Park and Ride and bus interchange.

When fully developed, it could provide eight million square feet of mixed use accommodation, subject to planning. That would equate to office space for over 20,000 employees and homes for some 6,000 people, depending on the final development layout, it is claimed

New Ingliston Ltd owns 205 acres of the wider gateway site with Murray Estates and FSH Airport Services owning the rest.

Roddie Paterson, managing director of New Ingliston Ltd, said it “offers an unrivalled opportunity to open up the west of the capital and create an outstanding vibrant urban hub for working, living and leisure, rivalling Orestad in Copenhagen or in the Zuidas area of Amsterdam”.
